Here is the update video we filmed yesterday, to give a shout-out to those who backed us on Kickstarter.  While I was editing it, we ended up meeting our funding goal with five days to spare. You might recognize a familiar face in the video, especially if you’ve been following “Sing Along.”  To those who haven’t, it’s a short film starring Alice Ripley (Next to...

SING ALONG Update Video #3 →
So I worked on this update video for five hours to thank now 60 backers (twice as many as in the first two) and then, while editing, discovered we had met our funding goal on Kickstarter!  HOORAY! Obviously, we still are taking pledges for anyone who wants a copy of the soundtrack, or a DVD screener (might be the only chance to see the movie short of attending a film festivall).  In the meantime,...

"Sing Along" Kickstarter halfway to goal! →
Hey, everyone.  We’re only one week in and we are close to having met 50% of our goal.  If you can get to New York next spring, this is your only chance to attend the premiere with star-studded guests… and for the next 25 backers, that ticket is only $125 (normally $225).  But if you just want a copy of the soundtrack and the DVD, this is the only time they will be available to the...

Just a note...
I am not sure if my Tumblr is clear since I am very new to this site.  But I’m working on a short film starring Alice Ripley (Next to Normal), Sam Tsui, Uzo Aduba (Godspell), Myles Erlick (Billy Elliot), Heidi Blickenstaff ([title of show]), Remy Zaken (Spring Awakening), and Patrick Page (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark). The film is slated to shoot in October — we just need to raise...

My dear friends...
The Kickstarter for “Sing Along” was launched today.  We have some early bird specials — go to the New York premiere in spring 2013, with cast and some well-known guests.  The ticket is $225 but the first 30 will get in for $125.  Four already claimed… and we’ll be doing it on a weekend on request from a fan from Texas. If you’re interested in this or other...

Broadway veterans Heidi Blickenstaff, Patrick Page, and Remy Zaken have joined the cast of Mark Oxman’s film Sing Along, which will begin production in October. The film will have original songs by Ron Wasserman.  The film concerns an introverted 14-year-old boy living in New York City, whose love of musicals translate to an overactive imagination, stemmed from his natural creativity. But...

"Sing Along" website up and running! →
It’s still in the developmental stages but I finally developed a website to promote the film.  As much work as going into it, it’s ironic that I will scrap it entirely when the domain is geared towards promoting the actual film (stills, trailer, press, festival listing, etc.) and not its inception during pre-production and the Kickstarter campaign.

How embarrassing.
It’s 10:30PM and I’m laying down MY vocals on the demo tracks to send to professional Broadway singers.  I never claimed to be musically talented but I am visualizing each and every member of the cast snickering when they listen to my rendition of their songs.  Fortunately Alice’s demo was done by Kathy Fisher and the adjustments I made to the lyrics weren’t enough to...

Facebook site launched! →
Well, just launched the Facebook site for “Sing Along” officially now that the Kickstarter page is in the works.  The Twitter site is up, too, but I haven’t announced it publicly because it would be premature to do so.  Three of the four actors are now officially attached; waiting to hear back from #4.

I’ve done 68 storyboards.  Only 22 left and the entire thing will be done.  Then the fun can really start!  (I am not sure if I am being facetious or not… there is definitely truth and tongue-in-cheek in the idea of pre-production and its massive undertaking being “fun”).
